IGI is pleased to debut a brand new interactive online educational series “IGI eLearning Courses” featuring lessons designed to educate people selling jewelry and those that want to learn more about diamonds, gems, and jewelry.
IGI has analyzed and graded a 30.18 carat emerald cut laboratory grown diamond, the world’s largest to date. Produced by Ethereal Green Diamond, the “Pride of India” is the first polished lab grown diamond to exceed 30 cts.
IGI will offer complimentary consultation services to attendees of this week’s Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show at Expo Centre Sharjah, UAE, expected to attract more than 60,000 visitors and 500 industry brands.
IGI has named John Pollard Senior Director of Education. In this newly created role he will oversee and expand the institute’s educational offerings, currently taught at 14 schools of gemology around the world.
IGI recently analyzed and graded a 6.18 carat round brilliant-cut, loose stone and established it was a lab-grown diamond. The stone was submitted for verification purposes, and came with a certificate that stated it was a natural diamond.
For over 45 years IGI has been a global jewelry certification and grading authority. IGI New York has extended that leadership by becoming the first gemological laboratory to commit to carbon neutral certification.
