IGI Announces Interactive eLearning Programs
Institute offering customizable lessons for professionals
NEW YORK (July 28, 2021.) The International Gemological Institute (IGI) – the world’s largest independent gemological laboratory – is providing interactive online learning for jewelry professionals.
eLearning with IGI is offered on a variety of topics, from introductory 4Cs, diamond and gemstone training, to comprehensive education about lab grown diamonds and the significant benefits the natural diamond industry brings to millions of indigenous people in the upstream value chain.
“There’s a lot happening in our industry right now,” said IGI North American President Avi Levy. “Those who know the latest developments are going to serve their clients best.”
IGI customizes their eLearning courses and programs. The educational components don’t change, but IGI supplements essential knowledge with added context and messaging designed for the target audience, emphasizing information that can be used in-store or elsewhere immediately.
“We suggest different talking points for a luxury brand than we do for an e-commerce seller,” explained Chief Marketing Officer Arnaud Lorie. “The basics stay the same, but we help them use the information in their context immediately. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback for this approach.”
For the past 13 months, IGI has conducted ongoing seminars for jewelry professionals, trade organizations and jewelers in several sectors, including leading luxury brands. Those seminars are similarly customized for the target audience.
For more than 45 years, IGI has instilled confidence in shoppers with its world-class evaluation and grading of fine jewelry, gemstones, and natural and lab grown diamonds. Consumers worldwide are aware of the importance of the 4Cs – Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight. With this focus on educating sales professionals, the Institute continues building a “Fifth C,” Confidence. For more information on IGI and its offerings, please visit IGI and IGI’s Gemblog.
IGI has 20 laboratories in all major diamond and jewelry centers around the world, as well as 14 education facilities. For 45 years, IGI has provided the fine jewelry community and consumers with a broad range of services. This includes independent diamond grading reports, colored stone reports, identification and appraisal reports, diamond authentication and attestation of origin, laser inscription services, as well as the issuing of the traditional jewelry identification report. Regardless of location or marketplace, an IGI Laboratory Report is the language of trust and confidence in the gemological world.
