Serving as a natural progression from the prerequisite Gem-A Gemmology Foundation Course, graduates of this second program receive the Gem-A Gemmology Diploma (Gem Dip) from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, one of the most well recognized credentials in the gem and jewelry industry. Together, these two courses impart the analytical ability, precision, and professional competence required to evaluate a wide range of gemstones, synthetics, and treated materials with confidence. Gemologists who have first earned the Foundation Certificate (Cert GA) and advance to further earn this Gem-A Gemmology Diploma (Gem Dip) can apply for Fellowship of Gem-A, allowing them to use the FGA credential after their name.
